The Fishing Experience at Baffin Bay!
The fishing for trophy trout and redfish on Texas’ Baffin Bay is nothing short of spectacular and our experienced guides can’t wait to show you our neck of the woods.
Anglers may choose to light-tackle rods or fly gear to fish the expansive, shallow-water flats of the 100 square mile Baffin Bay – where drift & wade fishing are the most productive ways to stalk these fish!
Baffin Bay Fishing Trip Details
Best known for having the best speckled trout fishing on the Texas Coast, Baffin Bay draws many serious trout anglers during the prime winter and early spring months to try their luck at landing a true “Gator Trout”! This time of year leads up to their prime spawning time, when water temps reach the 80-degree mark, and the fish are at their heaviest.
While winter and spring are prime months for trophy trout, spring, summer and fall also offer spectacular drift & wade fishing for redfish, black drum and flounder!
Your Fishing Guides
Baffin Bay Rod and Gun’s experienced, professional fishing guides are ready and eager to share their knowledge and expertise with you. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or are completely new to fishing and the outdoors, you’ll find our guides to be patient instructors, who want to see you succeed and catch the fish of your dream!
They’ll help you set goals for your day of fishing and tailor each trip to your group’s abilities and likings – and they’re excellent with the young anglers in your party!
Leaving from our docks by boat, your guide will scoot you to the day’s fishing grounds based on tide, wind and conditions – where you’ll typically wade or drift the expansive shallow-water flats. Your guide will coach you on the finer points of flats fishing, while using mostly artificial lures on light tackle equipment or fly rod (if you choose).
Wade fishing is often the most productive method for fishing Baffin Bay as it requires the angler to slow down, fish each area more thoroughly – resulting in more hookups!
Lodging & Accommodations
Baffin Bay Rod & Gun is an all-inclusive lodge for outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen, located on the Texas Coast. While we welcome anglers who would like to drive-in for a full-day fishing charter, we hope you’ll stay with us and enjoy the unique experience our lodge has to offer: clean, comfortable lodging, delicious meals and a wonderful outdoor area complete with our own private swimming pool!
Cleaning & Keeping Your Catch
Just about everyone enjoys taking home some of the fresh fish they catch and we’re no different. In fact, we’re fish and seafood lovers ourselves!
You’re more than welcome to keep some of the fish you land and we’ll even clean and bag your catch for you to take home. We only ask that you practice a bit of conservation as well – keeping only legal catches and releasing trout over 25″.
And rest assured, your guide will take plenty of photos to help you commemorate the trophy trout you set free!
